Wow! Fort Lauderdale is quickly becoming the place to relocate in Southern Florida in 2007 for many reasons. 2005 was a record setting year for the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. The ten millionth visitor mark was hit for the first time ever! I am looking forward to seeing that record broken in 2006. If you are a business owner and are looking to expand your business or just want a change of scenery, can you think of a better reason to move to the greater Fort Lauderdale area? According to Sunny, a Fort Lauderdale site that highlights local events and news, more than $8.4 billion was spent by tourists in the area. Hotel occupancy increased to 74.6% as well. So with all those visitors, shopping is at a premium. When the numbers come in, I am sure 2006 did even better. So what does this mean for someone looking to relocate to the Fort Lauderdale area? You have choices. Southern Florida isn’t just for beach goers anymore. 2006 brought the King Tut exhibit, Florida Huddle the Museum of Art is hosting the Cradle of Christianity, and the Mai-Kai, the famous Polynesian special occasion restaurant turned 50. 2007 will bring Super bowl XLI to neighboring Miami and great concerts from Prince and Red Hot Chili Peppers. So moving to Fort Lauderdale has many advantages on the cultural front. Don’t forget that the beach is still the most popular attraction. So if you want to find that golden tan you have always wanted, the Greater Fort Lauderdale area is the place to move. Great outdoor attractions in Fort Lauderdale for you to consider when trying to find the perfect place to relocate are wonderful water parks such as CB Smith Park and TY Park and nature parks such as Tree Tops Park which hosts the Animal Olympics and an Indian Pow Wow. If you are into biking, you have to check out the Velodrome. It is a 333.3 meter concrete track that allows you to enjoy the beautiful winter weather while exercising. There aren’t too many places you can do that in the winter without bundling up. 2007 will be gone before you know it. So don’t wait too long to check out what a great place Fort Lauderdale is to live. Real Estate is exciting and you get the best of all worlds – perfect weather, great shopping, tons of unique activities, and wonderful sites to see. Let me show you some of the best real estate available to you here in sunny Florida.
