As an introduction to the Waterfront Living in Fort Lauderdale series, I want to dispel the most common myth about living near the water.

Waterfront living is not the most expensive form of housing in Fort Lauderdale. You would be surprised at the affordable waterfront homes we have to offer you from $300,000 and up. Around here that is a great price to start with. Granted you can go anywhere from that to millions of dollars but Fort Lauderdale has so much waterfront living to offer that we can place you wherever you want and still stay within your price range.

Another trick to waterfront living in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding area is to look a couple of blocks from the ocean. You can find great deals and save 20%-30% while staying within walking distance of the beach. The advantage to this is that you don’t have to worry quite so much about all the sand blowing in your front door. I hate having to sweep more than necessary just because I live near the waterfront.
