Today is sort of an odd affair. We have been asked to evacuate certain areas of Palm Beach due to Tropical Storm Noel and yet we still put on our costumes and celebrate Halloween. How odd to spend the day looking towards the sky through a mask. So much like real estate, I have to blink.
Gotcha! Not really but thought I would get your attention anyway. I am pleased to say that we are getting some really needed rain today regardless of how it gets here so bring it on Noel, just be sweet about it. How many of you are going to get dressed up tonight in spite of the weather? Halloween costume parties are very popular among adults these days. I have heard of more adult Halloween costume parties recently than I have in many years. Similarly, our homes should be dressed to the nines as well during this hurricane season. Here are a couple of ideas as to how to dress your home in it's Hurricane costume.
- Make sure you have hurricane shutters on and ready to go.
- Do you own tape? Sometimes that is all you need against heavy rain.
- Make sure you have trimmed back the trees in your yard. That way they don't land in your windows.
- Find shelter for your cars. Hurricane damage should be avoided if at all possible.
- Make sure you have a generator handy in case you loose power like some of us have today.
The most important way to dress your home for the hurricane season is to evacuate when asked to. Don't be a marter. We want to see you next year. AFter all, I will have a new house to sell you by then <wink>
Talk to you later,
Christine
