Ok, let me just say up front that today’s post is a personal opinion and I hope you take it as such. I really enjoy going to auctions and watching people. Some people go crazy over the littlest things. However, you can get some great deals there as well. Real estate auctions are no exceptions.

The 2 most common types of real estate auctions are:

Estate Auctions - These are the real estate auction sites where someone has passed away and their estate will be auctioned off. These real estate auctions are where you find all kinds of goodies from antiques to the perfect fixer up real estate deal.
Foreclosure Auctions - These properties are being foreclosed on and the bank just needs to get market value so that they don’t loose any more money on the property.

Oddly enough, real estate auctions are the best place to find great real estate deals. I always try to stay current on the latest developments in real estate auctions as I have clients that are willing and able to pay cash for good deals here in Broward County. But there are other reasons why I really like going to real estate auctions.

With an estate auction, I just want to help the family out and ease the pain of what to do with the property of a loved one that has passed away. I have personally been involved in something like this and let me tell you, a real estate auction is the best way to go after the family has received what they want. This way, they don’t have to worry about how long it will take to liquidate the rest of the assets. Everything will be taken care of in a few days. Besides, there are some great deals to be had.
I love to feel like I have helped someone else out. Sometimes, the auction is for someone who needs to get out from underneath some form of debt. As a Realtor, I try to help out home owners before they get to the foreclosure stage. But once the real estate property goes into foreclosure and is auctioned off, I try to let my clients know about the deals if it fits what they are looking for.

Real estate auctions are so much fun. Even if you go and don’t find anything you want and are willing to bid on, you will still have a great time watching everyone else sort through things. Watching people figure out how they want to bid is hilarious. Some people jump right in and really get into it and some just bid very relaxed and cool like. Either way, real estate auctions are a great way to go.
