Welcome back to one of our 4 series running at Best Homes in Broward, Sep 28 by: Christine
I am so proud to let you know that Broward County schools have helped produce 2 of the top students in the nation. This year, around 446,000 students took the standardized ACT college entrance exam. Only 86 of those students made a perfect ACT score of 36. 2 of those students were from right here in Broward County. They aren't your typical nerds, either. they are well rounded, average teenagers that simply applied themselves. Ray Peng lives in Coral Springs and goes to American Heritage School in Plantation. He has a job on the weekends and participates in sports. He loves the piano and wishes to start a music program at a local community center. IT is so refreshing to see a teenager focused on something other than himself. Jamie Tayar of Sunrise goes to Boyd Anderson High School's International Baccalaureate magnet program. She has an hour bus ride to get to school and has plenty of time to do her homework there. She loves astronomy and her passion for life is in physics. She wants to attend the California Institute of Technology and major in physics. Our Broward County schools are the best around and we know it. We love to introduce our schools to new residents who are looking for a home in Broward County simply bevcause we know how good they are. Talk to you later, Christine

Our hearts and prayers go out to the families that were displaced from the explosion in Deerfield Beach this morning. I'm sure it would be a scary thing to wake up to an explosion that rocks your entire residence. Witnesses say that they woke up to thunderous shaking and didn't know what was going on. I can't imagine waking up to that so early in the morning. I am usually up by then but still. Most people were shepherded to the Target parking lot across the street in their pajamas. Makes you want to sleep in something nice all the time, doesn't it? But this does remind us to make sure our homes are safe. There are a few simple things that we can do to keep our Broward County homes safe.
