It seems to be top 10 week here at Best Homes in Broward. Today we are going to look at the top 10 things to look for in a Realtor. It seems in Broward County there are 1000’s of Realtors. It would be hard to pick one over the other until you have had experience with the Adler Team  of course. Well here are the top 10 things to ask your potential Realtor when interviewing them in regards to selling your home and helping you find your new home in Broward County.

  1. How long have you been selling homes in Broward County? This will tell you how well they know Broward County and Fort Lauderdale.
  2. Do you have any personal experience with the school districts or can you recommend a school district in regards to my child’s abilities? This will tell you if they are familiar with the many schools in Broward County and Fort Lauderdale. This is very important if you have kids.
  3. How many listings do you currently have? This will tell you how active they are in Broward County. 
  4. How long on average do your listings stay on the market? This will tell you how aggressive they are with selling their listings. Do you have any references? Most Realtors’ business comes from referrals and this will tell you how well they work with clients. This will also tell you how well they can listen to exactly what you want in a new home.
  5. What kind of technology do you use to sell and market houses in Broward County? This will tell you how active they are in cutting edge marketing.
  6. Is there a team of Realtors that can help sell your home or does the Realtor work alone? This will let you know how much support they have in selling your home.
  7. Is your Realtor a member of the National Association of Realtors? This will give you an idea as to the involvement with national associations and the commitment your Realtor has to the profession. You definitely want a Realtor that is a member of the NAR. It is nothing but a plus.
  8. If you are relocating to Fort Lauderdale and Broward County, how does the Realtor’s website look? It should let you browse the site easily and make you feel like you are home already. The website gives you a look into the Realtor’s personality. 
  9. Have you already decided on a price? Make sure, when you interview your potential Broward County Realtor that they don’t want to push you into buying beyond your means. Otherwise, you will just be selling sooner than later to avoid bankruptcy.
  10. Finally, listen closely to all the answers. You will be riding around Broward County and Fort Lauderdale for many hours before you find the perfect new home for you and your family. So you want to like who you are working with. If there is anything that doesn’t set well, move on! 
 

Choosing a Realtor can be a tricky and potentially disastrous thing to do. So make sure you take the time to do your research well. Most Realtors want to make you happy and want your business. I just want to make you happy. If I get your business, that’s a bonus! So make sure you interview several Realtors and then pick the best one for you and your family.
