waterfront_living.jpgWelcome back to our series on Waterfront living. When you talk about living on the water, you usually assume that the price goes up due to your location. I wanted to show you that this isn’t exactly true and talk about what to consider when looking at water front property. We have talked about how living near the water can range anywhere from $300,000 and up. There are so many waterfronts here in Fort Lauderdale that you can choose from anywhere you want by just walking the shores. But, of course, talking with me, we can narrow that down a little to find the perfect place for you to live.

Here are some suggestions to think about on both sides of the coin when considering water front living.

  • If you are concerned about price, walk back a block or 2. You still get the great water front living experience of hearing the ocean and waterways, but you generally save around 20% to 30% on the price of your home.
  • Who says you need to join a gym to exercise? This could be a whole topic in itself but let’s just start with the idea that there are so many ways to exercise and stay in shape by living on the water front that you could literally save hundreds of dollars each year buy exercising in your own neighborhood.  And the view is much better!
  • Do you like sand? If you live in a home, you will no doubt have a little bit of sand somewhere near your door. It’s the beach, dude! You have to love it.
  • Weather. Do you like it? Usually living near the beach or any type of water front leaves you open for quick pop up storms. But it also gives you the most beautiful sunsets you could imagine.
  • Do you have the time to devote to home maintenance if you choose a home instead of a condo? The humidity can wreak havoc on your home. Just a small, shameless plug for either a maintenance free home or a condo.

Living near the water is a great way to make yourself feel like you are living in the lap of luxury without paying for it. They are one of my favorite places to show. So call me and let me show you how to live like the rich and famous without the pricetag.

Talk to you later,
Christine
