realtor.jpgI know this sounds funny coming from me, but you should really be able to trust your Realtor above and beyond when you are trying to buy or sell your home.  Everyone says that but no one really tells you why.  So I thought I would go over some trickery and best kept secrets that some Realtors don't want you to think about or know.  I do and that's why I am tell you.  I just hate to hear of bad real estate deals that go wrong because of a greedy real estate agent.  You will never get that here.  I promise and stake my name and reputation on it.

You should always feel comfortable talking with your Realtor.  If there is something about your Realtor that makes you uncomfortable, then go somewhere else.  You are fixing to be spending a lot of time with them and feeling like you need to get out of their company is not a good thing to struggle with each time you look at a new home.

You should be able to talk about finances with them.  I have seen both sides of this coin.  I have had friends that choose to use another Realtor because they didn't feel comfortable sharing their finances with me.  I have also had referrals for he same reason from other Realtors.  Your Realtor needs to know what you have to get from your home when you sell it so they know their wiggle room.  It might mean that they take less of a commission to get you what you need.  Likewise, Not being honest with yourself and your Realtor could land you in a home that you can't afford later on.  Then you will just have to downsize and sell again.  So make sure you can talk honestly with your Realtor about finances.

Don't just pick the Realtor with the most listings.  This doesn't make a good Realtor.  It just means that the Realtor has a good handle on the marketing side of real estate.  Take a look at the Realtor's averages.  They might have the most houses but longest time on the market or the highest percentage of reduced home sales.  As a buyer, reduced home sales might be what you want in a Realtor, but as a seller, you want a Realtor that can sell your home fast and for a profit.

Get references.  If a Realtor isn't willing to give you references or jut gives you positive references when you ask for references from both sides, then run!  Not everyone is perfect and I don't like to deal with people who hide their unfortunate side.  You are going to be working with this person intimately until your home sells or you find your dream home so felling comfortable is VERY important.  Don't settle.

I love what I do so I hate it when I hear of a real estate deal gone bad.  It breaks my heart when someone isn't happy with the entire experience.  Fort Lauderdale has so much to offer you that I want t get you settled as soon as I can so you can experience my beautiful city.  Honest.y, I want you to feel comfortable with your Realtor.  So if you decide to go elsewhere, I can't fault you for that.  I can simply wish you good luck and happy house hunting.  But I can only stress to you the importance of a well oiled machine to give you the best service you deserve.

Talk to you later,

Christine
